How to fire-proof your marriage
(before you have even met your future spouse)
The real vocations crisis in the church today is not about the lack of priests – it about marriage. The average young person today will end up living with their partner before getting married, a third of those who do get married will end up divorced, and the average length of their marriage will be only 8 years. If we are living in a culture that has forgotten what marriage is all about, then we need to actively rediscover this mystery and work out how to create a strong foundation before we even think about who we want to marry.

Understanding the Mass
The Church’s method of continuing to catechise those who are full members is through the Liturgy, we just need to know how to read the signs.
The Catechism of the Catholic Church (1074, 1075) tells us:
“Catechesis is intrinsically linked with the whole of liturgical and sacramental activity, for it is in the sacraments, especially in the Eucharist, that Christ Jesus works in fullness for the transformation of men.” (John Paul II) Liturgical catechesis aims to initiate people into the mystery of Christ (It is "mystagogy.”) by proceeding from the visible to the invisible, from the sign to the thing signified, from the "sacraments" to the "mysteries."
This workshop will take a closer look at the meaning behind some of the liturgical signs we see during the Mass, using the hands-on approach of the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd. Workshop will be hosted by Marie Fernandez, Christine Giuffre and Veronik and Metcalf.

There are some basic, practical rules that will make us more effective when praying with and ministering to others. This seminar will teach these methods and provide some practical experience in praying with people.
